So I”m reading my new issue of Preservation magazine (from the National Trust for Historic Preservation - yes, The Cap”n is an enthusiastic member) the other day, and they had yet another piece on recovery efforts in New Orleans.
Mentioned in the article is the woman who lives directly across the street from the shell of my friend Dave”s house in Lakeview. Not a big surprise, since I”d seen a big National Trust banner outside the house - it”s a rehab “demonstration project” - the last time I was down there.
But reading on, I noticed another familiar name. This person - who”s directing National Trust efforts in New Orleans - is a friend of my pal Edward. I recognized her name because she and my dog are named after the same person. This guy:

Seriously.
So that”s some pretty good randomness. My friend in New Orleans has this National Trust project across the street from his pile of sticks; my friend in Atlanta is friends with the woman working National Trust stuff down there - and I know her name because she shares it with my dog - and the two connections are mentioned in the same short article in the obscure magazine I read.
Gotta be Lotto-type odds of that. But hitting it don”t pay off like Lotto does.
